Opravdu. Ačkoliv by k tomu název i zasazení do blízké budoucnosti a světa ninjů nasvědčovaly (o vzezření hlavního hrdiny a podobnosti s Rjúem nemluvě), Ninja Blade má k vytvrdlé řebě jménem Ninja Gaiden daleko. Mnohem blí má celkovm konceptem k jistému řeckému bijci s nevrlou povahou. A skutečně vykrádá vechny moné hry a principy a počet inovativních prvků by se dal spočítat na jednom prstu jedné ruky. Nicméně to nijak nepřeká tomu, aby lo o velice zábavnou hru, která jde a na samou dřeň hratelnosti a nesnaí se za kadou cenu přináet zlomové herní prvky, hluboké filosofické a umělecké záitky nebo epick příběh přetékající upřímnm i falenm patosem. Kdepak, Ninja Blade jde přímočarou cestou nonstop akce a hyperstylizace, v ní se nebojí dělat si legraci sám ze sebe.
